The seeds of the Levant nut (Anamirta cocculus) contain picrotoxin (see BAM number 12938). The substance is described as highly toxic to fish and is marked as a marine pollutant in the index of the IMDG Code. BAM does not have any corresponding data for a classification as an environmentally hazardous substance. However, it must be assumed that the substance is environmentally hazardous. The user is responsible for the correct classification.
